Amrit is a multimedia journalist based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. She broke through to become the first woman on Hockey Night in Canada’s Punjabi Edition in 2015 as the digital content coordinator and host. Her proven ability for curating original, relevant and high quality content with a push on digital has resulted in international coverage from the likes of HBO & ESPN.
Alongside sports broadcasting, she currently oversees national and local television newscasts as a producer on OMNI Television at Rogers Media. In the past she has been the executive producer of a morning news talk program called, The Kash Heed Show. The show provided listeners with insight into stories that are making local to international headlines.
Her love for storytelling for draws back to high school, where she was selected to become a student reporter by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. She received top honours & was awarded for excellence in Film & TV.
Amrit is a graduate of the Broadcasting & Online Journalism program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and has obtained a post-professional certificate for Social Media & Digital Marketing from Harvard University. She speaks English, Punjabi & is a Mandarin student.
